THURSTON COUNTY READINESS CENTER

Washington Military Department  |  Tumwater, Washington
Completed: 2021  |  Construction Cost:  $38 million

The primary mission of the Thurston County Readiness Center is to provide a cost-effective and operationally efficient specialized training facility for the assigned units of the Washington Army National Guard and their personnel located in Washington Military Department’s South Puget Sound Region. The facility houses approximately 78,000 square feet of training, administrative and storage space and allowed the Washington Military Department to realize significant energy, maintenance, and operational efficiencies through the divestment of two obsolete facilities and consolidation of their functions into a single modern facility. Its proximity to other state agencies, as well as within the Tumwater community, also facilitates its use as a conference and meeting facility in support of multiple agencies and public and community groups.

The Thurston County Readiness Center earned LEED Gold sustainability certification.
