We believe that the best designs result from team collaboration. We seek to combine design excellence with intensive user participation through workshops, friendly conversations, and probing questions; involving the users of the building in the design process. We like to listen, to hear each other, and to critically evaluate the myriad of choices inherent in design.
Our interactive team approach is guided by the belief that each stakeholder must be encouraged to make positive contributions to the design in order to create a unified vision for project success. Strong leadership, open communication skills, and recognition of the tensions inherent in this process provide the means to guide the design towards the shared goals for the project.
Assisting the team in sorting priorities and incorporating various agendas to reach a consensus is handled in a creative and thorough manner. It is our first and continuing task as designers to listen, and to be receptive to the wealth of ideas that the users of the building bring to this project. We realize that some of those ideas are clear and ready for development but frequently need a supportive forum, a well-run meeting, friendly and perceptive interviewers, or a fast and accurate technical test to gel. This supportive, open-minded approach backed by our experience and technical ability is the heart of our process.
